The Dance Centre
A New Chapter of Collaboration and Community
The Centre in Llandrindod Wells is entering an exciting new phase as Impelo and Mid & North Powys Mind join forces to create a shared space that will benefit both organisations and the local community. Thanks to funding from Powys County Council, the Welsh Government’s Transforming Towns programme, and the Arts Council of Wales, essential renovations will breathe new life into this building, making it a hub for creativity, wellbeing, and collaboration.
A shared vision for the future.
This partnership provides a unique opportunity for two like-minded organisations to thrive under one roof. While the Dance Centre’s large studio remains at the heart of Impelo’s operations, the building will also become the new home for Mid & North Powys Mind, offering a purpose-built space to deliver their vital mental health services.
The building itself has untapped potential. By joining forces, Impelo and Mid & North Powys Mind will:
Rejuvenate the building, ensuring it’s fit for purpose and cost-efficient.
Create a shared space, with separate entrances and distinct operations, but a unified ethos of wellbeing and creativity.
Secure the future of both organisations, allowing them to thrive and expand their services.
What’s Happening Now?
Renovations for the Dance Centre began in October 2024 and will be carried out in carefully planned stages. While the building is temporarily closed, work is already in full swing to transform it into a vibrant, multi-purpose space for the community.
The Centre is projected to open its new doors in Autumn 2025
